OutRiders Philadelphia is a group of GLBT and GLBT friendly
cycling enthusiasts. We have both Road and Mountain Biking groups.
Volunteers select and lead rides. Allen Fischer coordinates (and
often leads) the mountain bike rides. Dana Hanchin coordinates (and
often leads) road. We need and encourage members familiar with parks
and road routes to share and lead rides at those locations. We have
riders of all abilities. Some are training for the Gay Games in
Australia. Some are interested- inmuch-mcTe -leisurzly AFA"ns Soccer
rides.
Our regularly scheduled weekly rides are scheduled on Saturdays
at 9AM. Starting locations can vary.

Let us know your preference. Offroad-Mountain biking, Road or both.
We can then put you on the appropriate email list/s for our ride
or activity notices.
The mountain bike group meets weekly year round. With the exception
of excessive rains and icy conditions we ride. The Road group has
ended their official season and should resume regular rides in the
March.

WEEKLY RIDES
BEGINNER + Intermediate RIDE
Saturday, August 23 - Sewell, NJ @ 10AM
Our Regularly scheduled Saturday ride is listed as beginner
but don't let that discourage the more advanced riders. This
compact park, situated adjacent to Gloucester County College,
provides mostly tight singletract, some short power climbs,
logs and even a small dose of the sandy pine barrens. NJ babe,

the bldgs.
MID WEEK RIDES
Wednesday and / or Thursday Night /Evening Ride @ Pennypack**
(some sort of lighting will be required) meeting at Sandyford

Thursday Evening- Belmont Plateau "VIR" Very Informal
Race @ 6:00PM
Local bike clubs will mark a short loop or come up with
some scheme to keep your heart pumping in the singltrack.
All groups start at the same time. You keep your own time.

As always, significant rains at the time of or within the 12 hour
period preceding the ride will cancel. Ice, blizzards and temps
below 15 can also cancel The Rules:
1. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Clean and lube
your chain, pack a spare tube, and a bike pump.
2. Always bring identification: driver's license, emergency phone
number, and health insurance card.
3. Wear a helmet. It is required. No ifs ands or buts about
4. Bring water. Two water bottles and/or a camelback are recommended.
5. Bring food. Fig Newton's, fruit, raisins, Power or Cliff Bars,
or a packet of energy gel.
6. Bring money. Great to have on your for snacks or an after ride
meal.
7. Bring your cell phone, if you have one. They are always a welcome
addition.
8. All ride leaders are volunteers. Riders are expected to understand
that they ride at their own risk.
9. We will ride according to the IMBA Rules of the Trail. Allen
